A house move covers the furniture and boxes you agree in advance, from bedrooms and living rooms to the garage or shed if you want them cleared. We confirm the list before the day so the van, crew and time match the job. Standard beds, dining tables and flat-pack wardrobes are dismantled and rebuilt when the fixings allow. Fitted kitchens, wired appliances and anything fixed to the wall stay put unless we agree a separate task with you.

Blankets, covers and room labels keep sofas, mattresses and glass apart in the van. Floors and banisters are protected where the crew walks. Insurance is provided. Ask us what is covered when you book, especially for antiques, instruments or items you prefer to move yourself.

If you want crockery, books and clothes boxed as well, add our packing service to the same quote. You can also pack yourself and hand us a home that is ready to load.

How our service works

Start with both addresses, the floors, and how close a van can get to each door. A photo of the stairs, the parking bay or a narrow hallway tells us more than a room count alone. We reply with a written quote and no obligation. That quote stays valid for three months, which helps when a chain slips by a week or two.

On the day the crew follows the loading order we agreed. Upstairs rooms are often loaded so they come off first at the other end, unless you want a different plan. We check doors and windows are secure and that utility tasks you own are left with you. We do not hold keys for an agent unless you ask us to, and we do not remove rubbish from the loft without agreement.

At the new house we place furniture in the rooms you name and rebuild the pieces we took apart. You sign off when the agreed list is empty and the van is clear.

What affects the cost

Home size is the starting point, then access. A straight path from door to kerb is quicker than a carry across a courtyard or down steps to the street. Parking that forces a shuttle with a smaller van adds time, as does a long drive between the two addresses.

Packing, unusual dismantling and moves that include a piano sit outside a standard furniture load. The date matters too. We would rather quote a Tuesday than squeeze a busy Friday into a day that is already full.
